Effective date: July 4, 2026
Cultivate ("the App," "we," "us") is built around a simple idea: help you be intentional about the relationships that matter to you. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
When you use Cultivate, you may enter information such as relationship names, photos, notes, goals, special dates, and activity logs. This information is stored entirely on your device using Apple's on-device SwiftData storage framework. We do not have a backend server, and this information is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Because this data lives on your device, it is included in your device's standard iCloud backup if you have that enabled — the same way your other apps' data is backed up. We do not have access to your iCloud backups.
Cultivate uses a privacy-focused analytics service called TelemetryDeck to understand which parts of the App people find useful, so we know where to invest our development time. This is limited to anonymous, aggregate signals such as:
These signals never include:
Each signal is independent — we do not set any user identifier that would let us connect two signals together as "the same person," and TelemetryDeck hashes technical identifiers on your device before anything is sent, so nothing is linked back to your identity. Because of this, Cultivate does not need to show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt — this analytics approach does not meet Apple's definition of "tracking."
Cultivate offers a one-time in-app purchase to unlock premium features. All payment is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see, collect, or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID — Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
Cultivate can send you local reminders (for example, about an upcoming goal or special day). These are scheduled entirely on your device using Apple's notification framework. No notification content or scheduling data is sent to us or to any server.
If you choose to add a photo to a relationship, it is selected using Apple's standard photo picker, stored locally in the App's on-device database, and never uploaded anywhere. We never request or receive access to your full photo library.
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (StoreKit) | Processing in-app purchases | Handled entirely by Apple; we do not receive payment details |
| TelemetryDeck | Anonymous product-usage analytics | Aggregate, non-identifying usage signals described in Section 2 |
Cultivate is intended for use by adults who want to be intentional about their relationships — including relationships with their own children. The App is not directed at children under 13, does not require creation of an account, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any information about a child (for example, tracking a parent's relationship with their son or daughter) is entered voluntarily by the adult user and stored only on that adult's own device.
Your relationship content is retained on your device for as long as you keep the App installed, or until you delete it within the App. Anonymous usage signals are retained by TelemetryDeck according to their standard retention practices; since they are not linked to your identity, they cannot be individually deleted on request.
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new feature that changes what information is collected. We'll update the effective date above when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
